Christian is a fifth-generation Montanan. He grew up in
Missoula before attending high school at St. Paul's School
in Concord, New Hampshire, on Montana’s Frank Hervey Cook
Scholarship. After graduating from Yale University with a
B.A. in History in 2005, he returned home to Montana to
attend the University of Montana School of Law. While in law
school, he interned at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and
graduated with Honors in 2009. After law school, Christian
clerked at the Montana Supreme Court for Justices W. William
Leaphart (ret.) and Beth Baker before joining HKSA in
September of 2011.
Christian's practice at HKSA includes energy and natural
resource law, employment law, and civil litigation. He
assists local and national nonprofits and maintains an
active interest in the nonprofit sector. He is the co-author
of Conservation Easements: Tax and Real Estate Planning for
Landowners and Advisors (American Bar Association, 2011).
Christian is a member of the State Bar of Montana and the
American Bar Association. In his free time, he enjoys
reading, playing disc golf, backpacking, coaching soccer,
and soaking in natural hot springs with his fiancé Michelle.
